My organization is currently trying to download LiDAR data for a couple of tiles and has been unsuccessful in doing so.  After trying to run the tool on multiple machines on different days, we are still receiving the same error message, which I have posted below.

Unzipping LAZ Files....please be patient
Failed script copyLidarTilesFromServer...

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "P:\GIS METADATA\tools\ArcToolBox_mn_lidar_download_tools\scripts\copyLiDARTilesCurl.py", line 392, in <module>
    if float(arcpy.GetInstallInfo()['Version']) > 10:
ValueError: invalid literal for float(): 10.2.2

Failed to execute (copyLidarTilesFromServer).

Has anyone had this problem?  Thanks for any information and guidance,

Zach,

Sorry you're having trouble - thanks for reporting the error message.  I will check again with DNR staff -- others have reported errors with the LiDAR ArcToolbox using Arc10.2 versions that have not been easy to troubleshoot.

In the meantime, try using the MnTOPO website to download the data you need:

Thanks to Zeb Thomas, DNR, for providing an updated Toolbox script that should fix the errors reported on this post.  You can download the revised zipfile from a link provided on the LiDAR info page:  http://www.mngeo.state.mn.us/chouse/elevation/lidar.html#data  Please let us know if any problems remain. (I posted this reply to a different thread on the forum in June ( http://www.mngeo.state.mn.us/cgi-bin/LiDAR/topic_show.pl?tid=82 ), but missed posting it on this thread until now.)
