Minnesota Geographic Data Clearinghouse Acknowledgments
Thanks go to the following participants for helping make the Minnesota
Geographic Data Clearinghouse possible:
- The Federal Geographic Data Committee: FGDC played a leading
role in developing the federal geographic data clearinghouse, the
national spatial data infrastructure model and the federal metadata
standard; and provided partial funding to the Land Management
Information Center for construction of the GeoGateway search tool and
for metadata development activities.
- The Minnesota Geographic Data Clearinghouse Advisory Committee:
This advisory committee to the Governor's Council on Geographic
Information provided guidance and feedback on the developing
Minnesota metadata presentation and search capabilities at various
stages of development.
- VirtualMedi@, Inc., of St. Paul, Minnesota (renamed
Jadfly): This firm
designed and constructed the GeoGateway search tool.
- Blue Angel Technologies, Inc., of Valley Forge, Pennsylvania:
This company developed and markets the Metastar Gateway software that
provides the search engine for the GeoGateway.
- IMAGIN: This nonprofit consortium of Michigan agencies
commissioned and owns the DataLogr software. It worked closely with
several Minnesota agencies to produce a version of DataLogr compatible
with the Minnesota metadata guidelines. LMIC distributes the Minnesota
version of DataLogr free online through a
special licensing agreement with IMAGIN.
- Participating agencies: The
Minnesota Geospatial Information
Office (formerly the Land Management Information
Center) in the Department of Administration, the
Minnesota Department of Natural
Resources, the Metropolitan Council and
MetroGIS are major
contributors to and developers of this Minnesota effort. Many other
state and local governments in Minnesota also provided metadata and
online data to this effort. In addition, many federal agencies have
been in the forefront of providing documentation and data to the
public.
