| Horizontal Positional Accuracy | Surface data is as accurate as the 2003 FSA Aerial Photography. Lines were digitzed based on determining location from paper ditch maps and digitizing the features on the aerial photo. Subsurface ditch lines are as accurate as the georeferenced ditch maps. RMSerror is between 1 and 25 but on average about 10 for rectifying. | |||

The source information comes from aerial photos, original ditch maps, and a larger ditch map showing all ditches located in Meeker County. The layer was created using the 2003 Farm Service Agency (FSA) Aerial Photography and the most accurate information from scanned georeferenced ditch maps provided by the county. The scanned ditch maps, after scanned in, were georeferenced to their location. Visual location of the surface ditches was digitized off the aerial photo and verified off the scanned ditch maps. Tiles or subsurface ditches were digitized off the scanned ditch maps and visually checked to aerial photos where possible. | |||

The following information is included for each line: Ditch Number [DITCH_NO] Ditch Code [DITCH_CODE] IFS Account Number [IFS_ACCT] Ditch Jurisdiction [DITCH_JURI] Ditch Type [DITCH_TYPE] Branch Name [BRANCH] Lateral Name [LATERAL] Fork [FORK] County [COUNTY] Township [TOWNSHIP] Range [RANGE] Section [SECTION} Quarter Section [QUARTER_QT] Length [LENGTH] Ditch or Tile Size [SIZE] Source of Digitizing [DGTZ_SRCE] labeling [LABELED] The Ditch Number, Ditch Code, and IFS Account Numbers are based on Meeker County's codes for their tax system. Ditch Jurisdiction is whether it is a County or Judicial Ditch. The length is calculated based on feet and calculated within the GIS system. The size of the ditch or tile is based on what is reported on the original ditch maps by the engineering firms. The two variables for Digitized Source are Aerial_Photo and Official. Certain ditches were digitized off the aerial photo and where that was not possible, the ditch maps were scanned and georeferenced so that tiles and certain surface ditches could be scanned. A Y in Official means that there was a ditch map that supported the location of the ditches. A N stated that a map was digitized based on a larger ditch map of Meeker County and the visual location of the ditch. A Y in labeled means that the line has a corresponding label and a N means that the line was digitized but is not necessarily a part of Meeker County's Drainage Ditch System. |
