| Purpose | To provide the original, annotated Meeker County Ditch map base to GIS users. The maps are not intended to be used for survey level measuring or reference. The maps are intended as more of a reference to the location of the ditches and the approximate locations of the tiles as shown on the map. | |||

| Lineage | The layer was created using the 2003 Farm Service Agency (FSA) Aerial Photography and the most accurate information from scanned ditch maps provided by the county. The scanned ditch maps, after scanned in, were georeferenced to their location. Referencing was based off of the visual locations of road intersections on the ditch maps and the location of road intersections on the 2003 FSA photos. A first order polynomial transformation was used to rectify the scanned map. | |||

The original paper maps were produced by the engineering firms completing either the drafting or the construction of the ditches. Some of the original maps are the engineers plans and others are the as built maps. These maps are intended for use with a separate descriptive list that details the maps and their corresponding use in the construction of the ditch. | |||
