Title Aggregate Resources of Chisago County, Minnesota
Abstract Aggregate mapping for Chisago County was completed in 2001 by the Minnesota Geological Survey (MGS) under contract with the DNR's Aggregate Mapping Program. This map is a compilation of previous mapping projects at various scales and new mapping.
Purpose The DNR's Aggregate Mapping Program provides citizens, local government land use planners, the construction industry, and environmental groups with specific county-wide information on the location and quality of aggregate resources. This information supports long-term comprehensive planning that takes into account needed sand and gravel resources. The program was established by the Minnesota Legislature. Highest priority is given to areas where urbanization or other factors may threaten long term protection and use of aggregate resources.

format. Data sets are all associated with shape files but are available as dbf and viewable
with a database program. Metadata for the Resources.shp poly file and rspit.shp can be
found in the m116meta.pdf stored in the resources folder. Metadata for the state park
boundaries can be found at the DNR data deli web site at
