| Purpose | The DNR's Aggregate Mapping Program provides citizens, local government land use planners, the construction industry, and environmental groups with specific county-wide information on the location and quality of aggregate resources. This information supports long-term comprehensive planning that takes into account needed sand and gravel resources. The program was established by the Minnesota Legislature. Highest priority is given to areas where urbanization or other factors may threaten long term protection and use of aggregate resources. | |||
