| Abstract | Red River River Watch surface water quality monitoring station locations, including stream and ditch sites. This data set was created as part of the Red River Watershed Management Board's River Watch monitoring program. Under this program there are 177 sites which are monitored monthly during ice off conditions for water qulaity variables that include: Stage, Temperature, Transparency, Turbidity, pH, Conductivity, and Dissolved Oxygen. The data set contains locational data and limited attributes for all RRWMB River Watch stream chemistry stations. River Watch is citizen stream monitoring program that uses schools and other groups to collect stream water quality monitoring data. Water quality information collected from these stations is reported to the EPA's national STORET water quality database through the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. |

In general, inspections show that most of the station locations are sufficient to determine where the water course is being monitored, but may be more than 100 yards away from the actual monitoring location. | |||
| Vertical Positional Accuracy | The gps units used to collect this position information do not provide a very accurate elevation mark and thus the elevation information is not included in this dataset. | |||
