
Mark Thomas works for the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU),
Office of the Chancellor, where he manages system-wide software contracts. In
2002, Mark established an ESRI site license covering all 32 colleges and
universities in the MnSCU System. In 2009, Mark completed negotiations with ESRI
and the University of Minnesota (U of M) to establish a statewide higher
education site license. Under this agreement, the U of M partnered with MnSCU to
form a statewide higher education site license. Now both organizations have full
access to ESRI technology for all campuses. In addition this agreement also
covers U of M Research Centers, along with more than 80 University of Minnesota
Extension Offices.
The new Statewide Higher Education Site License provides GIS technology access
to help enable Minnesota to become a leader in geospatial education.
