Dr. Richason is a Professor of Geography and Executive Director of the Spatial Analysis Research Center (SARC) at St. Cloud State University. He obtained his doctorate in geography from Michigan State University in 1977 and has been working in the mapping sciences for more than 30 years. During this time he has published and made numerous presentations on GIS. In addition, he has conducted a number of GIS workshops at the state and national levels. He has served on the Minnesota GIS/LIS Consortium’s Board of Directors and is a Past President of the Minnesota Chapter of ASPRS. His current research interests are in the use of remote sensing in the analysis of soil landscapes and the use of precision satellite imagery in the mapping of archaeological site destruction in Iraq.
