Strategic Plan Committee Meeting

August 23, 2004

Attendees: David Arbeit, Fred Logman, Randall Johnson

 

Most of the meeting concerned organizing for completing the MSDI strategic plan document in time for the October GIS/LIS conference.  Logman reported that he met with David Claypool about helping complete a summary for the Elevation theme.  Claypool agreed to compile a draft.  Logman agreed to compile a draft summary from the Cadastral I-Plan, Arbeit for Imagery, and Johnson for Boundaries.

 

Members discussed roles for the October conference.  They agreed that Logman would present an overview of the final report and that I-Plan team leaders would be asked to attend to field questions.  Discussion of details of the presentation was deferred.  Members agreed to contact team leaders.  Arbeit would work with Tim Ogg for Soils and Mark Olsen and Susanne Maeder for Hydro; Logman would work with Chuck Bryant for Geodetic Control.  Discussions revealed that it was unclear who was now responsible for Transportation -- Denny Brott or Dan Ross were identified as the likely theme coordinators.

 

Members agreed to work on completing theme summaries for the next meeting, to be scheduled after Arbeit's vacation in mid-September.  The next meeting would be devoted to reviewing the summaries and planning for the conference presentation.  Susanne Maeder and Nancy Rader will work with committee members to compile draft summaries.
