1)
Liaison with other stakeholders:
a)
Electronic Real Estate
Recording Task Force (ERERTF) - David
A. brought up the ERERTF for an update regarding its activity. Jeanine informed
the Committee that the ERERTF was in the process of selecting a Project
Coordinator/Manager to oversee the project. The ERERTF has $700,00 over two
years to investigate the electronic recording of real estate documents. The
Committee thought that interaction between the ERERTF and LRM Committee is
needed.
i) Action Item
– Jay will establish contact with the ERERTF.
b)
Association of Minnesota
Counties (AMC) – Dave W. informed the
Committee on how to bring proposals to AMC. There is the Policy Committees that
are meeting on September 20 and 21 at the Radisson South. Proposals can also be
brought to AMC in December and also during the legislative sessions.
i) Action Item
– Dave will follow up with Elizabeth Davis to see if time is available on
September 20 at the General Government Policy Committee (GGPC).
c)
Minnesota Association of County
Officers (MACO) – Randy, Jeanine, and
Luci indicated that they will see if the LRM Report can be presented at the
upcoming meetings in Bemidji, Mankato, and St. Cloud.
i) Action Item
– LRM Report will be presented at the fall meetings and to Legislative Committee
in January.
d)
League of Minnesota Cities
– The Committee discussed the support the League displayed the last time LRM was
proposed and that they should be included again.
i) Action Item
– Dave W. will call Ann Higgins of the League.
e)
Minnesota Association of
Assessing Officers – The Committee
identified this group as one to include also.
i) Action Item
– Randy will contact the Assessors.
f)
Legislature
– Lee brought up that parcel information would help make census information more
accurate and that is something the legislature may relate to.
g) Office of Technology
– Luci and Jay met with Reggie David to communicate LRM and to investigate
whether there are items to coordinate with the Office of Technology. Reggie
supported the effort and wants to ensure that any software, hardware, or network
solutions developed by the Office will be shared and built upon.
i)
Action Item – The LRM will keep a communication channel open with
the Office of Technology by including copies of agendas and minutes to Reggie.
h)
Other organizations
– The Committee thought that the Real Estate section of the State Bar, Realtors
Association, and private industry should be contacted as a next step.
2)
GIS/LIS Panel Presentation
– A presentation will be put together by Jay and reviewed by participants for
the GIS/LIS Conference. The presentation is scheduled for October 11, from 1:30
– 3:00 in the Lake Superior O room. One or two people will spend 10 to 15
minutes presenting and the panel will answer questions the rest of the time.
The panel will consist of Jeff, Fred, Annette, David A., Luci, and Jay.
