Benjamin Timerson
Ben Timerson works at the Minnesota Department of Transportation as the
Program Manager for Transportation Data & Analysis in the Office of
Transportation System Management.
Ben received his Bachelor of Civil Engineering and Masters of Infrastructure
Systems Engineering from the University of Minnesota. He worked in the private
sector for 9 years before starting at MnDOT in 1999. Ben has been using GIS
since starting with MnDOT, first in Water Resources Engineering and then in
Materials Engineering. For the last 4 years, he has been the Co-Chair of the
MnDOT Statewide GIS Steering Committee. In the past 4 years, we have updated the
MnDOT GIS Strategic Plan and developed the 2016-2018 GIS Work Plan. Ben is
currently leading several tasks as part of the work plan.
