Matt Goodman

Matt Goodman has been a hands-on GIS practitioner within the public safety sector since 2008, plying the art and science of GIS through rote field data collection, project and team leadership, solutions development, business process analysis, schema development, and more. Even in his former private sector position most of his work served outstate counties.

In his current role as GIS Principal for the Sheriff's Office of Saint Louis County, Matt oversees all GIS support for the 9-1-1 system, GIS disaster response, rural address assignment and maintenance of the county's master address repository, and spatial solutions for incident reporting and crime analytics.

In the last decade, Matt has served on several statewide committees and workgroups including his current roles on the leadership team for the Geospatial Advisory Council's Emergency Preparedness Committee and Critical Infrastructure Assessment Workgroup. Additionally, Matt has served in various capacities under the NG9-1-1 Committee of Minnesota's Statewide Emergency Communications Board, helping his colleagues across the state establish models, best practices, and processes to support Minnesota's transition to a geospatial NG9-1-1 system.
