Mary Mortensen

Mary Mortensen joined the Metropolitan Council as GIS Manager in 2023. She brings over a decade of experience in geographic information systems, having held a range of roles in the private sector since 2011 — from GIS Technician to GIS Manager.

At the Metropolitan Council, Mary leads the Core Informational Services GIS team, overseeing GIS administration and delivering geospatial resources that support the agency's mission and operations.

Mary holds a Bachelor's degree in Archaeology and Art History from Cornell College and earned a Graduate Certificate in GIS from the University of North Dakota.
